MACC nabs duo for allegedly offering bribe to policeman

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) detained two men for allegedly offering a RM5,000 bribe to a police officer to avoid being arrested for several criminal cases.
Kelantan MACC director Datuk Moh Samsuddin Yusof said the two men, aged 30 and 45, who worked as labourers, were detained under Section 17 (b) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009.
"We (MACC) are finalising our investigation before handing over the case to the deputy public prosecutor to charge them in court," he said when met at the Kelantan police contingent headquarters’ Aidilfitri do here today.
Meanwhile, Kelantan police chief Datuk Hasanuddin Hassan said the two men were arrested during an operation conducted by Pasir Putih narcotic squad last Sunday.
The duo were found to have committed multiple offences, including drugs, having motorcycle with dubious chassis, failing to produce identity cards and being in possession of an air rifle at Kampung Seligi, Pasir Puteh, at 1.35 pm, he said.
