MACC scrutinises Johor Ruler's revelation of bribe for award
On March 25, the Sultan revealed that he was offered RM2 million by an individual to propose his name to the Chief Secretary to the Government for the title of Tan Sri.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is in the midst of scrutinising the revelation by Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar of Johor that there was an individual who tried to bribe him for an award and title.
MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) Datuk Azam Baki, however, said no arrest had been made so far.
"We have yet to make any arrest as we are still studying the case which involves various aspects," he told Bernama.
Yesterday, MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad and his senior officials were granted an audience with Sultan Ibrahim in the federal capital over the revelation.
On March 25, the Sultan revealed that he was offered RM2 million by an individual to propose his name to the Chief Secretary to the Government for the title of 'Tan Sri' to be conferred by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
