Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) Youth chief Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman has been summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to facilitate investigation into alleged embezzlement of government funds meant for rural development in Sabah.
Mohd Azis arrived at the Sabah MACC office at 10.20am, accompanied by his family and party members.
He was seen entering the building and was met by awaiting MACC officers.
Last Friday, two individuals, including Warisan vice-president, were remanded for five days to facilitate investigation into a case of misappropriation of RM180 million in government funds meant for implementation of rural projects in the state.
On the same day, MACC deputy chief commissioner (Operations) Datuk Seri Azam Baki told a press conference that an estimated RM1.5 billion of government funds meant for development projects in rural Sabah was siphoned off by a network of 60 firms that had colluded with officials of a ministry in charge of rural development from 2009 to 2015. -- Bernama
