MACC urge Selangor to sign IBR without delay

MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad said the MACC was still waiting for a decision from the Selangor state government to join other states in signing the IBR to show that their administration was free from corruption or misuse of power.

"I believe it is not that the leaders of Selangor are not keen to sign the pledge but may be they are waiting for a suitable date...however, I urge them to expedite that date. We have held discussions but they want to wait for a suitable date.

"It could be because the Selangor Menteri Besar (Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali) is busy. Even today he could not attend an official function," he told reporters after flagging off the Kembara Jelajah Anti Rasuah (KEJAR 17) convoy held in conjunction with MACC's Selangor level Golden Jubilee, here on Monday.

The flagging off was done by Tengku Indera Setia Selangor, Tengku Ahmad Shah which featured 40 high powered motorcycles and a bus that carried leaders from the MACC.

Selangor MACC director Datuk Wan Ramli Wan Abdullah had said 90 state organisations and federal agencies in Selangor had signed the IBR with the MACC to show their commitment.

On Sept 7, Bernama had reported that Selangor has yet to make a final decision as to sign the IBR or not although the MACC had repeatedly urged the state government to do so.
