MACC urges teachers to tell students dangers of corruption, abuse of power
Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad said teachers could work with the MACC in making the Anti-Corruption Revolution Movement (Gerah) a success.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) hopes teachers will carry out their responsibilities and guide students about the dangers of corruption and abuse of power to the nation.
Its chief commissioner, Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad said teachers could work with the MACC in making the Anti-Corruption Revolution Movement (Gerah) a success as it was a social revolution to initiate changes in society to combat crime, especially involving the younger generation.
"Educators must play a key role in educating and showing an example to students to reject and hate corruption which could ruin the image and honour of a nation.
"The MACC will continue its efforts to fight corruption but this is not solely the responsibility of the MACC as the educators must work together with us to ensure that the problem of youths involved in corruption is tackled more effectively and comprehensively," he said in a statement in conjunction with Teachers' Day today.
Dzulkifli represented all MACC members in wishing Happy Teachers' Day to all educators in conjunction with the celebration on May 16 each year.
