MACC's investigation without fear and favour - Khairy
Barisan Nasional Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said this also paints the picture that Najib and MACC have nothing to hide.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)’s statement that it will ask Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to explain the RM2.6 billion political funds deposited into his personal account proved that the organisation is carrying out investigation without interference from anyone.
Barisan Nasional Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said this also paints the picture that Najib and the MACC have nothing to hide.
“This will also restore the public’s confidence on the investigations carried out by the MACC,” Khairy said in a press conference after the BN Youth meeting today.
“The investigation will be done in a more thorough and better manner and prove that the MACC carries out its probe in a more transparent manner,” he said adding that this also proved that the MACC's investigation is carried out without fear and favour.
MACC had earlier said it will ask Najib to provide an explanation over the RM2.6 billion deposited into his account.
MACC said its investigations revealed that the money was a donation from a particular party in the Middle East.
The anti-graft body had also confirmed that the money is not from the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) .
