MAF Hospital in Melaka to undergo upgrading works beginning July

MELAKA: The upgrading works at 94 Armed Forces Hospital (94 HAT) here will begin the end of July with an allocation of RM40 million announced by Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Nov 28 last year.
According to a statement by the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) Public Affairs Division, MAF chief Gen Tan Sri Affendi Buang had paid a working visit to Terendak Camp here, today to oversee the facilities at the hospital as well as to get the latest developments of the upgrading project.
Affendi was briefed by 94 HAT commanding officer, Brig Gen Dr Mohamed Hatta Manis on the upgrading works involving its operating theatre, Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department and Central Sterile Services Department, among others.
Also present during the visit was MAF director of Health Service division Lt Gen Datuk Dr Md Amin Muslan.
"These upgrading works are also at the tender technical evaluation stage of the Public Works Department (JKR) and are expected to begin at the end of July," it said, adding that the project was to be implemented to meet the current needs of the hospital in providing facilities and services to the MAF personnel, army veterans as well as the local community.
Affendi also visited the 10th Parachute Brigade to oversee the mobilisation capability and preparedness of the paratroopers who are part of the MAF rapid deployment team.
He was also awarded the maroon beret and the Honorary Jump Wings presented by Army chief Gen Tan Sri Zamrose Mohd Zain.
