A foul stench led to the discovery of a maggot-infested body of a man at a flat in Bukit Jambul here.
The man identified Wong Boon Chuang, 53, is believed to have been dead for about a week.
Timur Laut District police chief ACP Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said police had to break down the door of the flat to gain entry after being alerted by neighbours of the stench.
"According to a neighour, he had not been seen coming out of the ninth-floor flat for a week," he told reporters here today.
Meanwhile, the body of another man was also found at another flat in Halaman Damai Lintang Kampung Rawa I here today.
The body of Yeoh Eng Beng, 68, was found by her daughter lying on the floor of living room of the 12th-floor flat at 10.55am.
Mior Faridalathrash said the woman lived alone in the flat and that police did not suspect foul play in both cases.
