Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman says Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has the right to resign from UMNO.
In a statement, he said what was more important was the support and confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
"We defend the country's leadership in line with the teachings of Islam that we must obey the leader and the government.
"UMNO and Barisan Nasional will continue the agenda for sake of the party and the people," the Terengganu UMNO liaison chairman said, adding that he strongly support the leadership of Najib, who is also the UMNO president.
