KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) will be reaching out to the needy members of the community with its newly launched MAIWP Mobile Clinic bus programme carried out with the cooperation with the Malaysia Consultative Council for Islamic Organisations (MAPIM).

MAIWP chairman, Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar said the double-decker bus which is aimed at treating asnaf and the poor in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (WPKL) will be heading to Hulu Langat tomorrow to provide treatment for flood victims there.

"In line with its launch today, the Mobile Clinic will be heading to Hulu Langat for three days to attend to sick flood victims," he said when launching and inspecting the bus at Bangunan PERKIM here today.

According to Mohd Daud, apart from assisting flood victims in Hulu Langat, the bus will also be heading to Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu according to their needs.

He said apart from RM800,000 allocated by MAIWP for the double-decker bus, an allocation of RM3 million was also provided to MAPIM to assist other groups who needed free medical aid.

The bus which has four consultation rooms and two treatment rooms will operate with a MAPIM medical team and for their flood mission, they would be assisted by PICOMS International University, Hospital Pusrawi , MAIWP Healthcare and MAHSA University.

Mohd Daud said after the flood mission, MAIWP Mobile Clinic will be in densely populated areas in Kuala Lumpur for three days a week from the end of December to provide free medical treatment and counseling.
