Maktab Mahmud of Padang Terap here has denied that one of its students was involved in bullying at its hostel as shown in a video clip which went viral on Facebook Tuesday morning.
Its student affairs senior assistant, Mohd Zulqurnain Mohd Yusof said the school authorities lodged a police report to protect the image of the school and students.
He said the report was made at the Kuala Nerang police station yesterday afternoon in connection with the four minute, 37 second clip.
"When I watched the video, the place depicted did not look like our school, in terms of wall colour, colour of the bed, bedsheets and blankets, as well as the hostel door," he told a media conference.
Mohd Zulqurnain said the student in question was currently taking his Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and was not linked to the video.
Meanwhile, Padang Terap police chief DSP Ahmad Nasir Jaafar said his observations revealed the hostel room in the video clip was different.
"We can say the so-called bullying did not take place at Maktab Mahmud in Padang Terap," he said.
