Police arrested 10 people who defied an order to disperse after participating in a Bersih 4 gathering at the Stadthuys building in Bandar Hilir here today.
Melaka Police chief Datuk Chuah Ghee Lye said they were picked up under Section 21 (1) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and released on police bail after having their statements recorded.
He said the 10 refused to disperse out of the 50 people who had gathered at the building in the afternoon.
Those who were arrested had worn yellow T-shirts bearing the 'Bersih 4' lettering which had been banned under the Printing Presses and Publications (Control of Undesirable Publications) Act 2015, he told Bernama.
Last night, Melaka Police arrested nine people out of about 100 who had participated in a Bersih 4 rally at Dataran Pahlawan in Bandar Hilir for wearing the prohibited yellow Bersih 4 T-shirts.
