Malaysia adds 3,973 more COVID-19 cases, 22 deaths

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia logs another 3,973 new COVID-19 cases today, just a day before the country heads into a third Movement Control Order (MCO 3.0).
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said out of the total daily cases, only five were imported cases.
Selangor continues to log the highest of cases with 1,328, followed by Sarawak with 512, Kuala Lumpur with 483 and Johor with 384.
The Health DG said there were 22 deaths in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll 1,722.
Six deaths are in Selangor, five in Kelantan, three in Johor, two both in Perak and the Federal Territories and one victim each in Sabah, Sarawak, Kedah and Pahang.
Perlis was the only state that did not report any new infections.
The number of patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has also increased to 453, with 224 of them placed on respiratory support.
The Health Ministry also reported on 13 new clusters that were detected, which brings the total COVID-19 cluster in the whole country to 1,820.
The total number of active clusters now stands at 454.
Malaysia's cumulative tally of infections currently stands at 448,457 cases, while the total number of active cases have risen to 38,499.
