The Government of Malaysia condemns the truck bomb attack in the Cizre district of the south eastern province of Sirnak, Republic of Turkey on 26 August 2016.
The bomb attack, reportedly targeting Turkish police, killed at least 11 and injured 78 others.
The Government of Malaysia expresses its deepest condolences to the Government and people of the Republic of Turkey, particularly to the family members of the victims affected by the attack. Malaysia hopes the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
Even though Cizre is not a popular location for Malaysian tourists, all Malaysian citizens residing and travelling to Turkey are advised to refer to the safety guidelines posted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia.
