Malaysia has zero tolerance for terrorism and will not condone any form of such action, whether in Malaysia or anywhere in the world, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
While condemning a series of attacks by gunmen in Paris on Friday, which according to reports left over 100 people dead, he said Malaysia was shocked and deeply saddened by the terrorist attack.
"Malaysia condemns that deplorable act and it is the policy not to condone nor tolerate any form of terrorism, not in our ground and not elsewhere in the world.
"Our condolences and deepest sympathies to the families of those killed and injured in the tragic incident. Our deepest condolences go to the friends and families of the victims.
"To the people of Paris and France, we grieve with you," he added in a statement here today.
"Malaysia has zero tolerance for terrorism - whether domestically or abroad - and we will ensure that we will do our part to enforce this promise," said Ahmad Zahid, who is also home minister.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has joined world leaders in condemning the terror attacks.
