Malaysia records another 20,988 new COVID-19 cases

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia adds another 20,988 new COVID-19 cases today.
This brings the country’s total number of positive cases to 1,786,004 since the start of the pandemic.
Health Director -General, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor continues to record the highest number of daily infections with 4,073 cases.

According to the data from the Ministry of Health (MOH), there are currently 1,417 patients in the intensive care unit, with 783 of them requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, there were 23,473 recoveries logged today, bringing the total number of those recovered and discharged now at 1,506,273.
Malaysia has so far lost 17,191 people to COVID-19, including 249 fatalities that were reported in the last 24-hours.
