Malaysia records a drop with 1,922 new COVID-19 cases

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded a total of 1,922 new daily COVID-19 cases as of midnight Tuesday.
The overall total now stands at 4,530,312, since the pandemic hit the country.
According to the data on the COVIDNOW portal, 1,919 from the total of cases logged yesterday consists of local transmissions while three were of imported infections.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) said currently the active cases stood at 22,961.
Selangor remains at the top, reporting the highest number with 821 COVID-19 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (351), Penang (136) and Negeri Sembilan (105).
Other states registered with two-digit were Sabah (82), Malacca (76), Sarawak (76), Perak (69), Johor (58),
Kedah (58), Putrajaya (32), Pahang (17), Terengganu (17) and Kelantan (16).
Perlis had six cases, while Labuan registered two infections.
A total of 992 patients have been hospitalised, 32 have been admitted in the intensive care units (ICU) nationwide, with 18 requiring breathing assistance.
MOH reported another four COVID-related deaths with one declared as "brought in dead".
The COVID-19 death toll of the country now stands at 35,720.
