Malaysia remains top destination for Indonesia healthcare travellers - MHTC

JAKARTA: Malaysia remains as a preferred destination for healthcare travellers from Indonesia even during the pandemic due to its world-class quality, easily accessible, affordable, and seamless end-to-end care.
In 2019, over 670,000 Indonesians sought medical treatment In Malaysia, reflecting their confidence in the neighbouring nation as a safe and trusted destination for healthcare that is regulated by the country's Ministry of Health.
"We continue to see a growing trend of Malaysia's popularity as a choice destination for healthcare," Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) chief executive officer Mohd Daud Mohd Arif said in a statement.
He pointed out that the reopening of Malaysia's borders on April ensures that healthcare travellers, especially those from Indonesia, can continue receiving treatments.
MHTC's three day Malaysia Healthcare Expo 2022 will be in Jakarta, starting Thursday to fulfill healthcare travellers' requests and those waiting to receive treatment since the pandemic began.
Four state tourism representatives, as well as 10 MHTC member hospitals will showcase their best healthcare offerings in fertility, cardiology, oncology, Hepatitis C, and many more.
Exhibitors will strengthen their commitment in providing continuity of quality medical and leisure offerings, besides the availability of Halal services and medical products.
Visitors stand a chance to take part in activities such as lucky draws and win prizes worth up to 17 million rupiah. MHTC will hold similar events in other cities, such as Surabaya and Medan this year.
