Malaysia reports 3,631 COVID-19 cases, 2,944 recoveries, 14 new deaths

KUALA LUMPUR:Malaysia continues to record four-digit of new COVID-19 cases with 3,631 in the last 24 hours.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 165,371, with the cumulative total of active cases now at 39,464.
According to the Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, only seven from today's new cases were imported while the remainder were local transmissions.
"Of the local transmissions, 2,754 involved locals while 870 are foreigners," he said in a press conference here on Tuesday.
Selangor recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 1,199.
He said out of the total, 884 cases were from clusters and close contact tracing actively conducted on the field.
Meanwhile, Malaysia recorded a total of 2,944 recoveries today, bringing the total number of cases recovered to 125,288.
Dr Noor Hisham said there has been an increase of 14 new deaths, bringing the country's death toll to 619.
As of today, there were a total of 238 patients receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 96 of whom requiring respiratory assistance.
