Malaysia reports slight dip with 11,994 COVID-19 cases, 36 deaths

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia identified a slight dip in new COVID-19 cases with 11,994 cases reported, taking the cumulative number of COVID-19 infections in the country to 4,292,585.
From the latest figures logged, 25 involved imported cases and 11,969 local transmissions.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 16,603 recoveries, taking the cumulative total of recoveries to 4,099,786 cases.
Another 36 deaths have been reported, of which nine were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases, Dr Noor Hisham said.
The death toll stands now at 35,228, since the pandemic hit the country.
According to the data by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on it's COVIDNOW website, active cases currently stand at 157,571, with 197 of them held in intensive care and 108 in need of breathing assistance.
Meanwhile, Malaysia registered 29,734 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered on Thursday.
About 84.3 percent of the population have received at least one dose, with 79.2 percent fully inoculated and about 48.7 percent have received booster jabs.
