Malaysia's COVID-19 cases jump slightly to 5,516

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia reported 5,516 new COVID-19 infections over the past 24 hours, an increase of 82 cases compared to the 5,434 new infections logged yesterday.
This takes the cumulative number of coronavirus infections in the country to 2,407,382 since the start of the pandemic.
According to Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, this marks the third consecutive day of new cases hovering above the 5,000-mark since Monday.
Malaysia has detected 32.9 cases for every 10,000 people in the country, in the last two weeks.
Further details on the number of new cases according to states, will be shared by the Health Ministry on its COVIDNOW portal.
