Malaysian citizens in Singapore can return home with entry permit - Ismail Sabri

Malaysians in Singapore were allowed to return to the country despite the Circuit Breaker being enforced in the republic until June 1.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said Malaysians living in the neighbouring country, however, had to apply to the Malaysian High Commission in Singapore via email.

"At the Sultan Iskandar building and the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex, the Malaysian High Commission in Singapore will issue entry permits to enter Malaysia for Malaysians who want to return home but they (Malaysians) need to apply (by email) to [email protected].

"(The application must be made) at least two days before the date of their return. The Malaysian High Commission has received 900 applications so far from Malaysians in the republic," he said at a press conference here on Sunday.

Ismail said the Johor State Security Council and the Malaysian Immigration Department had made the decision to accept at least 400 Malaysians a day.

However, every returning Malaysian must undergo a compulsory quarantine at the quarantine centre for 14 days.
