CNB said Prabagaran was arrested at the Woodlands Checkpoint on April 12, 2012, after two packets containing 22.24 grams of diamorphine (pure heroin) were recovered from the Malaysian-registered vehicle that he was driving.
He was convicted of importing 22.24 grams of diamorphine into Singapore on July 22, 2014, and was sentenced to death by the High Court two months later, it said.
CNB said the Misuse of Drugs Act provides for the death penalty if the amount of diamorphine imported is more than 15 grams.
