Malaysian Maths genius jailed in UK for child pornography
Nur Fitri might be deported back to Malaysia upon completing his jail term.
A Malaysian Mathematics college student was jailed in the UK for having in his possession over 30,000 images and videos of child pornography.
The Imperial College student Nur Fitri Azmeer Nordin, 23 had arrived in the UK last year.
He was was caught in possession of 601 videos and images belonging to category A (abuse involving penetrative sexual activity with children), as well as hundreds of category B and C ones, United Kingdom International Business Times reported.
According to the portal, the police were alerted to Nur Fitri after discovering an internet account that has been downloading thousands of sexual abuse videos and images.
Nur Fitri who is from Malim Nawar, Perak had studied at Sekolah Menengah Sains Teluk Intan.
After completing his Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) in 2009, Nur Fitri had continued his education at a local college in Malaysia before being offered a scholarship from Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) to continue his education at the Imperial College in London to study mathematics.
According to the portal, Nur Fitri might be deported back to Malaysia upon completing his jail term.
