The Foreign Ministry today advised Malaysians in Thailand to avoid going to locations of protest gatherings and to look after their security at all times.
The ministry also urged Malaysians to put off unnecessary trips to Narathiwat, Patani and Yala for security reasons.
"Malaysia continues to monitor closely the political development in Thailand including the announcement by the Thailand National Council for Peace and Order on June 13 on the rescinding of curfew nationwide," according to a statement by Wisma Putra, today.
Malaysians travelling to Thailand and residing there were also advised to register with the Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok (for north and central Thailand) and the Malaysian Consulate in Songkhla (for southern Thailand).
