Malaysia's daily COVID-19 record soars to 5,725 cases

Malaysia reported a total of 3,423 recoveries today, bringing the total number of cases recovered to 157,722.
KUALA LUMPUR:Malaysia records an alarming 5,725 new COVID-19 infections within the last 24 hours.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the country jumps to 203,933 cases.
According to the Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah’s Twitter post, local transmission was 5,268 cases while seven cases were imported involving five locals and two foreigners
Active cases with COVID-19 infectivity have risen to 45,478 cases.
Selangor recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases once again with 3,126 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (687) and Johor with 684 cases.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 301 patients receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 115 of whom requiring respiratory assistance.
The country’s death toll rises to 733, with 16 new deaths reported.
