Man charged with daughter's murder

An oil palm plantation worker was charged in the magistrate's court on Thursday with murdering his 11-month-old daughter.

Mohd Aswadey Ismail, 29, is charged with murdering Nor Amirah Mohd Aswadey between 9.30pm and 10.30pm at their house in Felda Sungai Panching Selatan here last Nov 16.

However, no plea was recorded

The offence carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

Deputy public prosecutor Farahah Mohd Nazari, who prosecuted, requested that the accused be sent to a psychiatric hospital for observation.

Magistrate Nurunaim Abdullah set Dec 28 for mention.
