A man charged with murdering grandmother

A former patient at Hospital Bahagia, Tanjong Rambutan was today charged in the Magistrate's Court here for murdering his 84-year-old grandmother.

Shahriman Mohd Shaidi, 35, allegedly killed Che Minah Hassan at Kampung Pasir Pekan Hilir, Wakaf Baharu, Tumpat at 7.15am on May 11 this year.

However, no plea was recorded from the accused who faces the death sentence under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Magistrate Mohd Isa Mohamed fixed July 1 for re-mention pending the post mortem and DNA reports. Deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Salam Yusof appeared for the prosecution while the accused was not represented.
