Man claims trial to escaping from police custody
The court set bail at RM3,000 with one surety and Jan 14 for re-mention.
A man who escaped police custody at Sungai Buloh early this month was charged in the Magistrate's Court here today.
Mohammed Firzal Azizan, 34, from Batang Berjuntai, Kuala Selangor, claimed trial when the charge was read to him before magistrate Norshakinah Ahmad Kamarudin.
The accused allegedly escaped custody while being investigated for a robbery case at Lot 2958, Kampung Paya Jaras about 10 pm on Dec 7.
The court set bail at RM3,000 with one surety and Jan 14 for re-mention.
The charge under Section 224 of the Penal Code carries a jail term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both upon conviction.
