An identified man was killed after he was run over by the Express Rail Link (ERL) as it was heading to the Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station yesterday.
Cheras district police chief ACP Chong Kok Sin said the incident took place at 9.30pm.
He said a statement was taken from the ERL side on the incident after being informed about it by the company.
"In the statement, the driver of the ERL admitted hitting an unknown object on the track.
"In a follow-up investigation today, police went to the scene of the incident and found a decapitated body on the ERL track," he said when contacted by Bernama.
"We found the head in a drain near the track," he said.
In addition, police believed the victim was a regular passenger of the ERL based on a ticket found in his hand.
Chong said the body parts were taken to the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital for post-mortem.
"The police will continue investigations on the case to identify the victim," he added.
