A man was found dead with his neck strangled and his hands and legs tied with sarongs at an apartment in Bukit Jalil yesterday afternoon.
Cheras District Police Chief ACP Chong Kok Sin said some workers were carrying out plumbing works at a unit when they sniffed a foul smell coming from a nearby apartment at 12.40pm.
"The victim is believed to have been killed in the past 24 hours. There were blood on his nose and left ear but no weapon was found," he said when contacted by Bernama.
Meanwhile, a security guard who only wanted to be identified as Dugra, 30, said the management of the apartments entered the unit from where the smell emanated after finding it unlocked and found the body of a man in the living room.
He said the victim was a Bangladesi national, in his 30s, who had moved to the apartment last month to stay with friends.
