Man dies in fire that razes home

A 46-year-old man died in a fire that razed his house in Kampung Baru Bintang near Temerloh last night, police said.

Temerloh Police chief ACP Anuar Osman said the burnt body of Sabaruddin Ahmad was found in the living room by firemen.

Sabaruddin, a bachelor, was alone at home when the fire occurred at about 8pm as his elder sister and mother were visiting relatives in Lanchang, Temerloh, he said.

Anuar said the fire is believed to have started in the kitchen. Sabaruddin's body was sent to Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh, he added.
