Man finds headless body while fishing
Upon noticing the floating body, Mat Muda immediately released his two kilogramme-catch back into the river.
A fisherman's excitement over his bountiful catch at Sungai Kampung Pandan near here this morning turned sour when he saw a headless body floating in the river.
In the 9.30am incident the fisherman Mat Muda Dillah, 54, and his son were in their boat heading towards Pantai Pandan when they noticed shoals of fish at the spot.
"I hurried home to get my fishing net. I thought it was strange to see plenty of fish in the river, and I managed to harvest some two kilogrammes of fish there.
"Suddenly as I was casting my net I spotted a headless body floating nearby," he told Bernama.
Mat Muda quickly released his catch into the river and sent his son home to call and inform the police.
Meanwhile a policeman at Lundu Police Station confirmed the discovery and the body had been sent to Lundu Hospital for a post-mortem.
