Man fined for operating beauty centre without licence, harbouring illegal immigrant

A man was fined a total of RM6,100 by the Magistrate's Court here today for operating a beauty centre without a licence and harbouring an illegal immigrant.
Magistrate Salamiah Salleh meted out the punishment on Ling Sze Chi, 30, after he pleaded guilty to both charges.
Ling was fined RM1,100, in default one month's jail, on the first charge with operating a beauty centre without a valid licence and another RM5,000, in default four months' jail, for allowing a Thai immigrant, Orathai Wichianplred, to enter and stay at the premises.
Both offences were committed at the Thai Massage, Jalan USJ 1/19, Subang Permai, Subang Jaya, here at 6pm on March 29.
Deputy public prosecutor Abu Arsalnaa Zainal Abidin prosecuted, while lawyer Mohd Syazwan Mohd Hassan represented Ling. -- Bernama
