A man who stole RM800 and two gas tanks from two surau and a mosque in Sungai Buloh was jailed a total of six weeks and fined RM2,500 by the Magistrate's Court, here today.
The sentence was passed by magistrate P. Sarulatha after the accused, Nor Azlan Shah Yahya,32, pleaded guilty to three charges of stealing.
The first charge was for stealing RM200 and two gas cylinders from Masjid An Nur, Saujana Utama, Sungai Buloh at 12.20pm on Sept 28, 2015.
For the offence, Nor Azlan Shah was jailed two weeks jail and fined RM1,000 or a month's jail.
He also admitted to stealing RM200 from Surau Makmuriah, Kuang, at 3.45pm on April 21 and was jailed for two weeks and fined RM500 or two weeks' jail.
The third charge was for stealing RM400 from Surau Al Falah, Bandar Puncak Alam, Sungai Buloh, at 8.33 am on Dec 16.
He was jailed for two weeks and fined RM1,000 fine or a month's jail.
The sentences were to run consecutively from his date of arrest on Dec 27. --BERNAMA
