Man gunned down at Perai Jaya flats by unknown assailants

A man died in a shooting incident at the E1 block of the Perai Jaya flats here last night. Penang deputy CID chief ACP Nasir Salleh said in the 10.30pm incident, the victim, in his 30s, died on the spot after he was shot in the right hand, nape and head. "We understand at the time, the victim was at a convenience store about 200 metres from the block when he came face-to-face with two men who chased him to the flats. "On reaching there, one of the suspects fired three shots at him which hit him in the right hand, nape and head. The suspects then fled," he told reporters at the scene today. The body was sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital. Nasir said police believe revenge to be the motive for the incident and urged anyone with information on the case to contact the nearest police station.
