Man impersonates cop to avoid arrest for khalwat

A man was apprehended by a team from the Kelantan Islamic Religious Affairs department (Jahaeik) Tuesday after trying to pass himself off as a policeman to avoid arrest for close proximity.

District deputy police chief Supt Idris Abd Rafar said the 23-year-old imposter was detained at 6.45am at a house in Kampung Sireh here.

"The suspect introduced himself as a policeman and showed the team a fake police authority card after being caught in close proximity with a woman," he said when contacted yesterday.

Also seized were a pair of handcuffs and two walkie-talkies. Idris said the suspect also tested positive for methamphetamine.
