Man killed after car plunges into drain

A man was killed in a road accident at Jalan Medan Selera, near MH Hotel, Ipoh, after his car skidded and plunged into a drain on Sunday morning.
In the incident at 7.30am, the 20-year-old victim had lost control of his car, hit the road shoulder and rammed into a roadside shrine before plunging into a drain.
The victim died on the spot.
Senior Fire and Rescue Department Officer, Mahir Mohammad Saad said they received an emergency call at 7.56am and rushed to the scene.
"When we arrived at the scene, we found the vehicle, a Proton Iswara Aeroback, stuck inside a drain,” "he said when contacted by Astro AWANI today.
Mahir said they used a special equipment to retrieve the victim’s body.
“The operation ended at 8.56am,” he added.
