A man was killed while his brother and three of their friends were seriously injured when the car they were travelling in, skidded, rammed into a pillar of a concrete bridge and plunged into a drain here today.
Mohd Khirulnizam Wahab, 38, who was driving the car, died on the spot in the crash at the 30km Jalan Hutan Melintang near Bagan Datoh.
His brother, Zulkefli, 34, who was in the front passenger seat, and Mohammad Nasrul Izzat Mohamad, 18, Abdullah Fahim Bahari, also 18, and Muhammad Izzuddin Abdul Rahman, 22, sustained head and body injuries.
Hilir Perak police chief, ACP Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the five were returning to their homes in Kampung Sungai Lanchang, Bagan Datoh when the crash occurred about 8.30am.
Mohd Khirulnizam’s body was sent to the Teluk Intan Hospital where the injured were warded.
