Man killed, son severely injured in accident at LPT2
The incident happened at 2.30am, Friday at the Kuala Dungun exit.
A man was killed while his wife and children sustained injuries after the car they were in met with an accident at the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2) at kilometre 347, this morning.
The incident happened at 2.30am, Friday at the Kuala Dungun exit.
Jasni Mohamed, 40, died instantly due to severe head injuries. His body was later sent to the Dungun Hospital for post mortem.
His son, Afiq Haikal, 10, also suffered head injuries and was rushed to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in Kuala Terengganu for treatment.
Jasni’s wife, Rosmawati Deraman, 35, and three other children; Aidil Hakimi Jasni, 14, Nuraina Hazwani Jasni, 7; and Aqil Hazwan Jasni, 10 months, sustained minor injuries and were sent to the Dungun Hospital for treatment.
The accident occurred when the Proton Perdana V6 driven by Jasni from Kuala Terengganu to Kuantan, skidded and rammed into the divider.
Dungun Fire and Rescue chief Amri Mohamad said it took six firemen took and 15 minutes to rescue the victims.
