Man runs over, kills daughter when reparking vehicle

A man reparking his vehicle at a relative's house where the family had come on an Aidilfitri visit last night accidentally ran over and killed his three-year-old daughter, police said.
Mutia Noraini Ayup died of severe head injuries as she was being rushed to the Duchess of Kent Hospital from Taman Sejati Ujana, Batu 7, near here after the incident at about 10.30 pm, said Sandakan Police chief ACP Zabidi Md Zain.
The girl had accompanied her three siblings and parents on a visit to an uncle's house in conjunction with Aidilfitri, he said.
Her 38-year-old father was reparking his four-wheel-drive vehicle after dropping off the family when he realised he had run over something and heard his wife scream, he said.
