Man stabbed to death after new year celebration

A new year celebration turned into a tragedy for a Myanmar national when he was stabbed to death in a struggle with a group of robbers at Jalan Kenanga, Loke Yew here early this morning.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah said during the 2am incident, the 25-year-old victim was believed to be fatally stabbed when struggling with the robbers.
"According to a witness, the victim was with several friends after returning from a new year celebration when they were surrounded by 10 men," he told a press conference here today.
He said the victim fought with the assailants causing one of the robbers to stab the victim on the chest with a sharp weapon.
On seeing the incident, the victim's friends and the robbers fled, he said.
"Police are tracking down all suspects to assist in the investigation on the case for murder and the victim's body has been sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem," he said.
