Police arrested a man who broke into a shophouse at Jalan Hassan, Off Jalan Sungai Udang, here on Monday.
South Klang police chief ACP Alzafny Ahmad said the 25-year-old man tried to escape but was caught by the shop owner.
"In the 4am incident the shop owner's wife had noticed through closed-circuit television (CCTV) the suspect and his three friends trying to break in by cutting the padlock of the door grille. Fearing for her safety, she immediately contacted her husband who rushed home.
"A scuffle ensued between the shop owner and one of the suspects while his three friends managed to flee the scene," he said in a statement today.
After getting hold of the suspect the shop owner called the police to hand over the suspect with RM70 believed to have been stolen during the break-in, he added.
He said police were tracking down the other three suspects, aged between 20 and 30, and urged anyone with information to contact the nearest police station.
