Man's head found in black plastic in Bukit Mertajam
Mazlan said police did not rule out the victim was killed elsewhere, and his ears were cut off, before the head was dumped in front of the shop.
A man's head was found in a black plastic package left in front of a restaurant, yesterday at 4.30pm.
Penang CID chief SAC Mazlan Kesah said the head was found by the owner of the restaurant in Lorong Impian Ria 5, Taman Impian Ria, who then alerted the police. Police have yet to identify the victim.
He said examination of the close circuit television (CCTV) from the shop found the package was left there by two men on a motorcycle at 9.30pm yesterday.
"We will continue to view the recordings of the CCTV obtained, other than those of nearby outlets," he told reporters at the scene, here, tonight.
Mazlan said police did not rule out the victim was killed elsewhere, and his ears were cut off, before the head was dumped in front of the shop.
He said, based on the blood on the head, police believed the victim was killed in the last 24 hours.
Police urge those with information on the case to come forward to help in investigation.
The head was sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for a post-mortem.
