Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) had never sponsored the Kelantan Football Association (KAFA).
Former KAFA president, Tan Sri Annuar Musa in reiterating this said the Mara 50th anniversary logo on The Red Warriors (TRW) 2016 jerseys was given for free to Mara, although it would have cost others RM250,000.
He said this was a sign of respect from the management of TRW towards Mara.
“Some say I had used Mara's money to sponsor TRW. I think there is nothing wrong if we learn to do some investigations so that we appear to have some intelligence and substance rather than merely relying on hearsay,” he said.
Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim had earlier said an unnamed person with the title of “Tan Sri” forced Mara and its entities to sponsor KAFA.
He had also demanded the Tan Sri to explain the matter.
