MARA offers 50 per cent discount to students who fail to complete studies

MARA said it will offer a 50 per cent discount to its borrowers who have failed to complete their studies.
The move is to lessen their burden, MARA chairman Tan Sri Annuar Musa said.
However, the offer is only offered to borrowers who makes a lump sum payment from their outstanding loan amount.
"To those who failed to complete their studies and are burdened by their loans from MARA, I announce a 50 per cent discount to them," he said at a press conference at Parliament today.
He said MARA had also agreed to offer an additional 20 per cent discount to MARA Education Loan borrowers who had graduated in 2010 and before that but did not get a refund and reduction facilities.
On March 25, MARA had will give 50 percent discount on study loan settlement made by debtors who took the loan before Dec 31, 2010.
The offer would be valid for a year from next month.
