MARA will patent 100 products by students

MARA has patented 100 products from 500 Mara Skills Institutes (IKM) with the potential to be marketed globally in three months.

Mara Deputy Director-General (Entreprenuership) Datuk Mohd Rosdi Ismail said, the agency had also set up an Innovation Unit, to strengthen further the products of the students to be commercialised. "The products encompass not only furniture but also food and services.

"This year we will ensure the products which meet the need of the market will be commercialised," he said at a media conference on the launching of the 2013 Mara Higher Skills College (KKTM) Entreprenuers Tekno Carnival and IKM.

Mohd Rosdi said Mara would provide a sales centre for the patented products to ensure they received a more global and competitive response.
