Mara will stop sponsoring Taylor's University students

Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) will terminate its sponsorship for the next intake of students pursuing their studies at Taylor’s University on various reasons, said the Minister for Rural and Regional Development Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

However, he said Taylor's University students currently under the Mara scholarship will be able to continue their studies.

“I have ordered Mara director-general (Datuk Ibrahim Ahmad) to look into the matter. We are terminating the scholarship for (students) the new intake on various reasons.

“However, we will not terminate the scholarships of the existing students (at Taylor’s University) as it may cause problems in the future,” said Sabri to reortes after a visit to the Information Technology Sales Centre @Busana at Menara Mara here, today.

Also in attendance was Mara director-general Datuk Ibrahim Ahmad.
