A faulty valve during processing was the main reason for bacterial contamination of Marigold HL 200ml and one litre milk packs.
Consequently, the manufacturer, Malaysia Milk Sdn Bhd, had to recall the products from the market.
Director-General of Health Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said investigations by the Ministry of Health showed the company involved had taken corrective measures to fix the faulty valve.
"In addition, the Ministry of Health is monitoring the recall and disposal process to ensure all products manufactured between the date of the complaints and the date when the faulty valve was being fixed are recalled," he said in a statement, here Wednesday.
