Marketability of Giatmara trainees at 84 percent currently - Ahmad Jazlan
Ahmad Jazlan said efforts to produce more local talent does not only involve institutions but also requires the participation of other agencies and ministries.
The marketability of Giatmara graduates in the work environment has now reached 84 percent, said Rural and Regional Development Deputy Minister Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakob.
He said 100 percent marketability of the UiTM trainees is expected to be achieved through various programmes and training conducted currently. An allocation of RM3.4 million which was received by the ministry's will be used to enhance Giatmara to yield marketable trainees in the open job market," he said.
He was replying to a supplementary question from Senator Mohd Salim Sharif at the Dewan Negara sitting here today as Mohd Salim had wanted to know Giatmara's high impact job marketability to reduce dependency on foreign workers.
